Althea Bennett was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. She attended the Boston Arts Academy where she discovered her passion for visual arts. A New School University dual degree student, recent Fine Arts graduate of Parsons School of Design and currently finished up her second degree at Eugene Lang School of Liberal Arts in sociology. The urban environments she was raised in has shaped her visual aesthetics, the hood being her life’s backdrop has provided her many inspirations and a particular perspective. Her hood placement is what has exhilarated her to go into art education as a driving force along with her own artistic practice. Her craft has expanded through her training in glass blowing, welding and steel work, woodworking, mold making and printmaking. Her work consists of sculptors, illustrations, prints and books.
