Zahra is an artist, educator, and administrator. She joined CMA in the summer of 2013 after completing her MA in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University.
Zahra has worked in diverse educational contexts including K-12 public and private schools, museums, and community settings including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Art in the Park Program at Riverside Park. She has extensive experience creating student-centered and developmentally appropriate visual arts curriculum integrating the NYC Department of Education Blueprint Standards for Visual Arts and facilitating inquiry-based thematic tours for school groups.
Zahra is thrilled to have the opportunity to integrate her passion for visual arts, education, and community outreach as the Manager of School Programs at CMA.
