Please Join CMA as we host the Global Cardboard Challenge 2017 on Saturday, October 7th!
What is the Global Cardboard Challenge? Inspired by the short film, ‘Caine’s Arcade,’ the Global Cardboard Challenge is an annual event presented by the Imagination Foundation that celebrates child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. Kids of all ages are invited to build anything they can dream up using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. Last year, the Challenge inspired 750,000 participants from 77 countries. This year, the goal is to surpass 1 million.
How can you participate this year?
Come to CMA on Saturday, October 7th to create your very own cardboard arcade game for CMA’s Cardboard Challenge theme “It’s About How You Make the Game”, a nod to the old saying about winning and losing. Spend the day at CMA to imagine, plan, sketch, cut, tape, and create! Or, spend September making your own cardboard arcade game at home and bring it to museum on October 7th!
After making your cardboard game creation, have others play it! Share your experience on how it was made and what you found to be challenging or interesting about the process of creating it!
Can’t make it? Join us for a week of fun at CMA’s “Cardboard Arcade” Art Colony February 19-23 (Spring Break)! Young artists will be able to create everything from simple ball toss games to a complex pinball machine as they work towards turning the museum into their own functional arcade!
