Become an artist-activist! Throughout time, artists have made their voice heard through their work. Visitors will work with CMA Teaching Artists to create stenciled posters and banners that send a message. What do you care most about? Say It Loud!
#ENOUGH: Art and Activism at CMA
Come to CMA to participate in an afternoon of art and activism. Join us for collective art making on Monday, March 12th from 12-5 and a special workshop to be held on Tuesday, March 13th from 3:30-5PM to create signs, banners and peace flowers out of sustainable materials to be used for the #NationalSchoolWalkout. For 17 minutes at 10am across every time zone on March 14, 2018 people everywhere will protest Congress’ inaction to do more than tweet thoughts and prayers in response to the gun violence plaguing our schools and neighborhoods. Students and allies are organizing the national school walkout to demand Congress pass legislation to keep us safe from gun violence at our schools, on our streets and in our homes and our communities. It’s amazing what can happen when a group of people come together for a common cause. Please Join us at CMA as we want to hear what you have to say and make art!
