Students will learn about the tradition of sequential art used in classic American comics, manga, and contemporary graphic novels and begin to write their own graphic novel. They will learn techniques in cartoon and perspective drawing, character design, and storyboarding as they work on their own comic book. Young artists will design their own cover art using traditional pen and ink drawing and learn Photoshop skills in order to edit the final colors and images of their comics.
