A properly completed portfolio is a fundamental factor in ensuring that a student is admitted into his/her specialized high school in New York City. Guided by CMA’s professional Teaching Artists, young artists are given a head start in portfolio work while building the confidence and skills needed to succeed in an intensive high school. In addition, this preparatory course offers insight into theoretical aspects of art, potential career paths, and the significance of group critiques.
CMA’s Portfolio Development course is a serious outcome based class and is designed for middle school students who are preparing to apply to an arts focused high school. Students from CMA’s Portfolio Development course have been admitted to schools such as LaGuardia Arts and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts and High School of Art & Design.
