In this class, students will explore the art of creating an animated short. Teaching Artists will guide the class in dissecting the intricate works of independent animators on youtube, studying the narrative, style, and materials used. In small groups, students will decide on their own materials -from paper, fabrics to claymation- before writing 2-3 short scripts to storyboard, and then animate. Using iStopmotion, students will learn techniques for creating a fluid animation, while also developing background sets and props to enrich the animated world they have created!
