Don’t leave the little ones out, enroll your 5 or 6 year old in our half day camp! Young artists will take part in an adventurous day Governors Island while exploring art, story telling, and the natural beauty of the island. From observational drawing to creating sculptures with natural materials, this class will focus on showcasing the rich history and cultural aspects of Governors Island while providing ample opportunities to create art. Students will be encouraged to stretch their minds, bodies and imaginations in this sensory-rich class!
8:30-8:55 AM: Children are dropped off at Governors Island Ferry loading dock at the Battery Maritime Building and signed over to CMA Staff.
9 AM-9:10 AM: Children and CMA Staff take ferry to Governors Island
9:10 AM-10 AM: Children enjoy supervised playtime on the Island with CMA Teaching Artists and counselors
10 AM-12:30 PM: Art Class
12:30 PM-1:30 PM: Lunch and supervised outside play
1:30 PM-1:40 PM: Ferry back to the Battery Maritime Building to meet parents for sign out and pick up
1:40-2:00PM: CMA staff wait with children for sign-out.
