With the natural surroundings of New York City as their guide, young artists will learn to use a variety of mediums, such as modeling clay, acrylic, and watercolors, to represent the energetic scenes around them. Students will have the unique opportunity to create their artworks “en plein air”, meaning setting up their supplies and working outside! Lessons will develop student’s composition skills as they learn about sculptural relief, observational technique, and perspective. Build your portfolio while taking in the sights and sounds of the city with daily trips outdoors. Explore the High Line and historic Hudson River, all with the stroke of a brush.* Families please note: this class will have a higher student/adult ratio, and participants will be required to wear a CMA T-shirt when off-site.
