Learn the fundamentals of printmaking! Young artists will explore a variety of printmaking techniques like block printing, monotypes, and silkscreen to create their own set of prints. Inspired by exceptional printmakers throughout the ages such as Andy Warhol, Anni Albers, Leon Bibel, Philip Guston and Mark Rothko, this class will develop students’ design and technical skills, while launching their imaginations. From design conception to the final edition, young artists will use a variety of mixed media and materials as they explore design concepts of transparency and layering, color mixing, and alternative printing methods. At the end of the week they will create their own portfolio carrying case to preserve their prints!
