This is a class for those with busy hands! Young artists will learn how to weave textiles, create soft sculptures, bead, braid, and much more. Inspired by the work of traditional and contemporary fiber artists, such as Sheila Hicks, this class will emphasize patience and process through the meditative quality of handwork. Students will become familiar with the importance of handicraft in today’s world and gain confidence as they create their own artworks!
Laura was born in New York and lives in Brooklyn. She is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, video, performance, installation, painting and drawing. She is currently working on an immersive installation inspired by Medieval Bestiaries.
