ARTech: Adventures in Art + Technology

ARTech is a two-month long pop-up activity center in the Meatpacking District comprised of STEAM-based experiential workshops, installations, and interactive moments for school age children and their accompanying adults. It is free and open to the public. Recommended for ages 4+, RSVP is required for a timed entry slot.

ARTech is hosted by the Meatpacking Business Improvement District, and programmed by Children’s Museum of the Arts and the New York Hall of Science.

Inside, you’ll find:

Build It: Using Rigamajig and its wooden planks, wheels, pulleys, nuts, bolts and rope will allow children to follow their curiosity to build and play

Exploring Velocity: A making station where kids will create a vehicle and test their creation on a ramp, learning about velocity

GIF Making Station: Using technology, children will walk away with their own piece of digital art in partnership with GIPHY

Ball Pool: Bounce and play in the interactive ball pool

Star Lab: Indoor blow up planetarium exploring space

Access Artists + Scientists: Explore ideas such as ecology, connected systems, climate change, and sustainability through art installation created by teams of artists and scientists

Workshop Space: Activities focused around climate, science and space; workshops alternating weeks

Post-It Art Installation: Children are part of the creation of a collaborative piece of art

ARTech will be open March 1 – April 29, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 3pm-7pm and Saturday & Sunday from 10am – 5pm. Times may vary so RSVP is required.
