CMA’s Teen Internship program provides 10th-12th grade students with an opportunity to support our various fine art and media art programs and to learn from our professionally trained teaching artists in our Summer Art Colony Day Camps at CMA and on Governor’s Island. Additionally, teens also have the opportunity to assist our administrative staff with developing programs specifically for teen-aged audiences.
Please note, we only accept 10th-12th grade interns for our Summer Art Colony Camps.
Summer Art Colony Internship responsibilities include:
- Assisting with Summer Art Colony camp classroom instruction, art material preparation, and program development.
- Collaborating with Teaching Artists to design workshops for general admission hours.
- Creating an internship project, such as a work of art or gallery workshop, to be presented at the end of the internship.
Interns will receive a Certificate of Completion for a minimum of two full weeks of interning in our Summer Art Colony, 9am-5pm daily. This Certificate of Completion can also be given to the intern’s school as documentation of community service hours.
