Assistant Director of Institutional Giving

Description & Qualifications

Children’s Museum of the Arts is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Institutional Giving (ADIG) to play a key role in grant writing and administration. Reporting to the Director of External Affairs & Advancement, the ADIG will be responsible for writing applications and reports, maintaining a grants calendar and tracking grants in Salesforce, and administering institutional gifts. The ADIG will be detail-oriented, a creative problem-solver, and a strategic creative thinker who will collaborate closely with leadership during the Museum’s upcoming transformation.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Institutional Giving:

— Prepare new and renewal solicitations, reports, and acknowledgement letters.

— Work with the Finance department to submit grant-related financial documents.

— Maintain and update government prequalification requirements.

— Maintain supplemental / attachments folder, log-in and password updates, and specific organization and program information.

— Identify and research new institutional prospects.

— Collaborate with Marketing and External Affairs to develop Annual Reports and corporate decks.

— Work across departments to contribute to CMA’s Strategic Planning efforts.

Grants Administration:

— Support Development team with acknowledgments; ensure that proper recognition opportunities are extended.

— Maintain institutional files and records.

— Manage internal grants administration, share information with program staff, and maintain donor crediting including online, flyers, programs, signage, etc.

— Direct a fundraising calendar, including gift tracking, updates on donor information, acknowledgment, and donor credits.

— Collaborate with Program staff in the reporting process.

Qualifications / Requirements:

— At least four years of relevant development experience

— Excellent writing and communication skills

— Solid integrity and devotion to collaboration

— Exceptional organizational skills

— Fully vaccinated with a CDC and / or WHO authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis).

Benefits:

Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000

CMA offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits include healthcare and 401(k).
