CMA Stories

This Week in Game Design

This week during Game Design, students built character and backdrops, then learned to animated their characters using Scratch. During one warm-up activity, we asked students to “imagine a world where…” There were many terrific ideas, but one stood out — “I imagine a world where it would rain chocolate.” Yum! On Thursday, we welcomed game designer Hyacinth Nil, who described their game design process for the students. We were very impressed that one student, Olivia, knew a complex coding term called raycasting! Check out all of the students’ games in CMA’s curated page on Scratch. Enjoy a short film compiled by Teaching Artist Katie Cheng below and click here to view more images from the week.
