International Day of the Girl promotes empowerment and highlights challenges girls and young women face all over the world. Kids — check out books such as Sisters: Venus and Serena Williams by Jeanette Winters, Astro Girl by Ken Wilson-Max, or I Am Change by Suzy Zail to read about girls that dream, achieve, and break boundaries (full reading list here).
Grownups — if you’re able, donate school supplies or hygiene supplies to organizations that support young women in your area. Educators — check out these lesson plans on gender that support transgender and non-binary children.
