Make your own mini clay creation! David will lead a step-by-step lesson on how to make your very own clay sculpture. Next, young artists will add in details to give their sculptures a story. Themes will rotate weekly. Class size is limited to 8 children. This class is led by David Lee, CMA Marketing Coordinator and Teaching Artist.

This class takes place on Wednesdays at 11 AM through August 26. Class times are listed in Eastern Time (ET).

Materials: modeling clay (we suggest Sargent Art Clay from Dick Blick, or use a DIY air-dry clay recipe), pencil, cardboard square.

Weekly Themes

August 5 @ 11 AM — Green Roofs

Did you know that green roofs can help save on energy costs and prevent excess water runoff? In this class, we will make a rooftop in the middle of the city and plant moss, flowers, and vines. Being eco-friendly can be beautiful! What will you grow in your city garden?

August 26 @ 11 AM — Pop-Up Store

If you could provide one thing to the community, what will it be? Essential supplies like face masks? Baked goods? Students will create a mobile storefront and envision their own pop-up store.

This class will be recorded for educational and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to have your image or name on screen, please join with audio only and rename yourself using the Zoom rename options.
