In celebration of the Puerto Rican Cultural Festival, CMA visitors are invited to make a collaborative skate park social space inspired by social practice artist Chemi Rosado-Seijo’s permanent installation, “The Perla Bowl” Project in La Perla community of San Juan. The skate park doubles as a community pool, but since the devastation of Hurricane Maria the site has become a water tank to provide the neighborhood with water. Using upcycled materials, create other uses for the skate park that can be helpful or fun! What else can the skate park do for the community? Who else would you invite?
