Graphic novels are the fundamental way in which stories are told. In this week-long graphic novel experience, your young artist will expand their world by creating and developing characters, learning sequential storytelling, and studying iconography and symbolism.
Along the way, students will experiment with both traditional and unconventional graphic novel materials including ink, pen markers, colored pencils, construction paper, and watercolors while exploring techniques including perspective drawing, character design, cover art, and storyboarding. Students will also learn to critique their work, and the work of their peers, using the guiding principles of balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, variety, and unity.
