Throughout time, artists have used poster design as a vehicle for making their voices heard! In this class, young artists will explore methods of printmaking while being exposed to socially conscious artists who have used the media to take a stand on important issues, from Shepard Fairey to Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. Students will learn the basic principles of relief printing, and mono-printing. The class will demonstrate these techniques and allow students the chance to practice and make multiples of their imagery and then create posters relaying messages incorporating typography and imagery.
