Some of today’s most well known artists have made their work on the streets. From the New York graffiti scene of Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat all the way to contemporary artists Banksy and Swoon, artists have often created work that exist on building walls and gallery walls alike! In this unique Art Colony, young artists will be able to create their own stencils and stickers that showcase their own message, sign, or symbol. They will also experiment with “yarn bombing” and creating a collaborative mural throughout the week.

Students will be learning about the history of and techniques used in street art, but will not be encouraged to engage in graffiti.
