Explore what it means to create textiles by using all-natural materials! In this class, young artists will learn to manipulate and design their own handmade textiles, and learn about new ways to upcycle in the process! Students will dye their own fabrics using natural pigments by incorporating spices, fruit & vegetable scraps, as well as learn to weave new textiles out of recycled fabric and even plastic! Teaching artists will work closely with students to help them learn about the science behind natural dyes, and ways to create patterns and motifs on fabric.
