When you visit CMA during general admission hours, you can participate in studio activities going on across the museum, from fine arts, to clay sculpture, to animation, and sound design! Many of the activities are inspired by artworks on view in the gallery, famous artists, national holidays, and artistic traditions from countries across the world.
The Cynthia C. Wainwright Gallery displays a themed exhibition of artwork by emerging and established artists, as well as children, that change every three to four months. Each day, Teaching Artists lead an art-making activity in the gallery that is inspired by themes from the current show. Workshops have included giant string sculptures, collaborative paintings, upcycled sports figurines, Rube Goldberg machines, weaving projects, and more!
In addition, CMA’s dual-level Bridge Space hosts a rotating series of interactive site-specific installations that are thematically linked to the main exhibition in the gallery.
